Fantasyland

The Fantasyland you visit today will be vastly improved within the next year. Major expansion of the area is underway and is opening in stages throughout the year. Probably the most anticipated expansion that Disney World has made as of yet. If you are as fond of princesses as much as my daughter (and MamaMouse) is, then you can’t wait for what is in store! I am a HUGE Beauty and the Beast fan and I am eagerly anticipating the opening of the land of Belle. You will be able to walk in the town where Belle lived her “provincial life”, then visit her where a chance meeting with a beast changed her life. Not only will you be able to visit Belle in the library where she will read your stories, you can dine in the magnificent 550 seat Be Your Guest restaurant! If you want to get a quick lunch, head over to Gaston’s Tavern. All I know is that I cannot wait to see what the imagineers have dreamed up!

Ariel, the Little Mermaid will have her own land and a very cool dark ride called Under the Sea; Journey of the Little Mermaid.

If you’ve ever been on Snow White’s Scary Adventure ride and loved it, you might be disappointed because the ride is being replaced with the Princess Fairytale Hall which will allow little princesses (and princes!) to meet their favorite princesses face to face. But don’t fear, Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs will be represented in the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster.

Enter the world of the Storybook Circus…

My kids are so excited about the new Dumbo attraction. Gone is the single Dumbo ride and the long wait to get on the popular attraction. Now instead of one ride, there will be two and the best part-for both parents and kids- is the queue area. Instead of waiting on a long line, guests will wait in an air conditioned indoor play area. A pager will notify you when it is time to ride. Your kids will be able to run and enjoy the new play area while parents can relax (WHAT? You mean we don’t have to keep telling our kids that “soon” we will get on the ride? :)) So painless, it’s a wonder they never thought of it before!

Goofy’s Barnstormer roller coaster is now going to be based on the Great Goofini and will be themed to fit within the new area.

My kiddos will be happy when they realize that even though Pooh’s Playful Spot is gone, a new water play area will be opening called the Casey Jr. Roundhouse play area. Kiddos + water = very happy kids and a happy mom and dad! Just make sure you bring a change of clothes for them!

In addition to all these new features, most of the favorites still remain. It’s a Small World is still awaiting your visit. PhilharMagic (one of my Disney must do’s) is a brief respite from the Florida heat and an awesome 3D experience.
