Last year my family stayed at Boardwalk Villas and because Epcot was within walking distance, I went more frequently than on past trips. I always enjoyed what Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase had to offer, but this time, I was able to truly take my time and enjoy it. I love to travel and learn about other cultures and so World Showcase is a place that I could spend days and days visiting. Not only do I love the idea that I can walk from one country to the next, but I love that you can interact with people actually from that country and get a feel for what those countries offer.
Being of German descent, I’m partial to Germany. I always feel particularly close to my grandmother when I go there because they have the same Christmas ornaments that she used to have, the candies and even the perfume she always wore. I’ve enjoyed so many different aspects of cultures I would never come into contact with, such as Morocco or Norway. Make sure you check out the singing group with the belly dancer in Morocco. They are super talented! And I haven’t even mentioned food yet! Make sure you wear something loose because you might just find yourself eating or drinking around the world! When it’s time for Mommy-time and you want something nice and cool (and adult) to drink, head over to the kiosk in France where you can get my favorite LGGS, or Lemon Grey Goose Slushie, or an OGMS, Orange Grand Marnier Slushie. Just be careful if it’s a really hot day, you don’t want to drink one of those too quickly!
Future World is based around a hub (or giant golf ball like my kids refer to it). The hub is actually Spaceship Earth. Inside you will find a ride that will take you through time focusing on technology. Make sure you take time to visit all of the exhibits that can be found in each pavilion. Let your imagination wander and your creativity soar! In addition to the great rides in EPCOT, there are tours you can take for an additional fee (take a tour on a Segway!), enjoy special events, shop, let your kids enjoy the water play areas and enjoy a nice meal. Oh, and make sure the kiddos go to the KIDCOT areas where they can learn and have fun at the same time!
