You’re going to be at Walt Disney World for Father’s Day and you still haven’t figured out what to do for the dad or father in your family. No fear! I’ve compiled a list of the Top 10 Ideas that will make the man in your life smile, long after your vacation ends. So, let’s start…
Call Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE) and book a reservation for a great restaurant. Now remember, what determines a great restaurant to the dad in your life, might not be what anyone else might think. I know that my husband loves sci-fi, B type movies and loves to watch them with not only me, but the kids. What would be an awesome place to eat then? Sci-Fi Dine-In in Hollywood Studios. If the man in your life likes a good steak, try Captain’s Grille or Yachtsman Steakhouse. Or, especially for tomorrow, Shula’s Steakhouse at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is offering a special Father’s Day meal.
Is he a golfer? Set up a special tee time for him at any of the Walt Disney World Resort’s amazing golf courses.
Is he a race car fan? Let him show his mad racing skills during the Richard Petty Driving Experience. I don’t know what man would not want to go a few laps around a track in a race car!
Book a bass fishing excursion. He will have access to professional-grade fishing equipment and Disney’s experienced guide staff. This is not an ordinary fishing trip!
Cars Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney. Check out over 150 classic, muscle and exotic cars along the promenade and brand new Chevrolet models. Also, if he is a Disney Cars fan, there are plenty of appearances and activities as well. Great for the whole family!
Take out a pontoon boat or sea racers and spend some quality family time on the water. This is a favorite of my family!
Surprise him with a gift basket of goodies from the Disney Florist.
Go to one of the many Disney stores in at the resorts- I suggest World of Disney or Team Mickey in Downtown Disney and picks out several items or one special item that you know he would love. Ask the cast members if there is some way to wrap it or make it special-they always have ideas.
How about a tour around the “world” as in World Showcase at Epcot? One of my husband’s to-do’s is to try out the different beers as he walks around World Showcase. He’s usually picky about which countries he picks from, but it’s always an enjoyable trip. The best part is the whole family can enjoy Epcot at the same time.
If he is a fan of a particular character at Disney, let’s say Mickey. Head to Town Hall and get a family picture done with Mickey Mouse. Surprise him with an assortment of Mickey items. Go to Le Chapeau and buy him Mickey ears and have #1 Dad written on the back of it.
Remember most of all, the important things are not what can be bought-it’s time spent and lots of hugs and kisses for the man of the day!
